About Us

The Past

Salem Millwork and Truss, Inc. evolved from Delmont Builders Supply, Inc. which was incorporated in 1960 as a contractor's lumber yard.

In 1986, DBS embarked on a a major reconstruction of their facility by enlarging the mill shop and adding a warehouse. During that time, a new 75'x210' building was erected for manufacturing roof trusses. The upgrades to the facility set DBS apart from other supply companies and provided them with a strong manufacturing capability to manufacture stairs, railings, and roof trusses.

During the 1990's, changes in the building supply industry created stiff competition for builder's and businesses making it challenging for smaller companies such as DBS to continue to be profitable. In 1997 a decision was made to capitalize on our manufacturing capabilities and focus on wholesale distribution of building components. At this time the company began to operate under the name of Salem Millwork and Truss, Incorporated.
